I've started to put a few hearts out as a simple decoration for tomorrow,
(though it's not 'the norm' to decorate for Valentine's day in the UK).
I've added a little romance to the mantle..
Cupid is at the centre with a heart shaped pebble, next two polished stone hearts,
then I've used two of the heart shaped seed heads and added a silk rosebud to the centre.
Then there's red tea lights, and dangling down beneath crystal candlesticks a beaded heart at either end
(they usually hang from wall sconces either side of our bed).
Lastly a large red silk rose before my Grandmothers candlesticks.
Okay, I know it's not that brilliant...but I think it looks sweet!
Happy Valentine's day tomorrow..hope your love treats you to something special.
Best wishes and hugs!

Rose, Your mantel looks so nice. I love all the hearts and the little cupid in the cloche is adorable.
Happy Valentine's Day!
The tile around your fireplace is very pretty.
Happy Valentine's day to you! We don't really decorate or celebrate Valentine's either, but seeing it all over blogland is contagious isn't it.
Love your mantel, Rose! Hello to Sid from the staff! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie

Hi Rose, thank you for your comment, yes so relieved to have Merlin home, they break your heart don't they!!!! Sid is gorgeous by the way... a right bruiser! Sophie
Rose- You're more than welcome to use Rocky's picture as your desktop. He's an 18 yr.old Percheron Draft Horse who is past of a matched pair. I love those big guys. They weigh about 2000 pounds each. I don't know how that translates, other than to say they're huge! Have a good rest of the week.
BTW- I took all 4 girls thrift shopping yesterday for clothes. We got about $500 worth for about $60. Cool!
hi rose! i think what you've done is beautiful. i like how the hearts drop over the mantel and the seed ones are pretty too. all of your choices are lovely. i don't decorate for valentine's day either. a lot of people put up a heart wreath on their door or a 'valentines' garden flag.
Everything looks so festive!!!! Hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Thank you for your kind words about the hole in my heart for my Reba. Have a great weekend. HUGS!
