Cooo-eeee!

Hello everyone, and a very sincere THANK YOU for all of your enquiries and lovely comments.  Both Mom and I are feeling so much better now, and my swelled face has receeded back to normal proportions....well as 'normal' as I'l ever be!

I haven't taken  photo's yet of any bargains to show you, but I do have a few creature shots to start the ball rolling with a post - hope you like them.

Who's been looking in MY pond?

Yes, I'm talking to you!

Different Heron - same thought in mind!
(All 3 taken from my bedroom window - and what a sight to wake up to...)
My five fish are still safe though, I have a good net over the pond ;o)

------

The 'Owl Man' visited our local market over the festive season to raise funds here's a few photo's of his gorgeous owls.

First, my favourite :o)

The HUGE beautifully soft and friendly African Eagle Owl

The beautiful British Barn Owl

The stunning Arctic Snowy Owl,

The much smaller Indian Eagle Owl.

The wonderful Tawny Owl

And the mystery owl!  Sorry I cannot remember, but it was quite small in comparrison to the others - I know it's NOT a Little Owl - anyone know please?

Now identified, this is a Burrowing Owl!

Then, there was a spectacular sunrise just after Christmas...

From our guest room window.

When I visited the German Cemetery way back in November I took a snap of this Fly Agaric growing near the grave I was visiting.

Don't you just love them - they remind me of childhood fairy tales :o)

Non of the photos are re-touched, just cropped.

The hedgehogs must me tucked up warmly as I have had no sign of them for quite a while, though I do still leave out food for them in case one wakes feeling hungry.

Again thank you for your patience and kindness.  I really MUST take 'finds' pictures to post.....

See you all soon, best wishes

Those are beautiful herons. Tthe owls are lovely too - sorry not sure about the small one, looked some up but this one I'm not sure about, unless it's the short-eared owl which has many of this owl's features.

I was out very early this morning to take Bob to the airport - we had a sunrise just like this one! Doesn't it make the day special when it starts off like this.

Lovely news knowing you and your mum are both much better, so glad Rose.

Great photos Rose!!! We have a heron that visits but im never quick enough to take a photo. As he flaps off with his enormous wingspan it always makes me think of a Teradactyl (is that its spelled?!) he looks so pre historic!

Love Owl number ones fluffy feet too...how cute!

Hello Rose
Glad you and your Mum are on the mend :)
Someone had taken their owls to a display at a national trust propery I visited. They were magnificent up close... of course I had left my camera at home. Although my pictures would not have been as good as yours anyway :)

There is something about your mystery owl that makes me think about the Marin Brothers and Ossie The Owl. On the other hand, my favourite is the Barn Owl: just beautiful.

We have a great heron that visits our pond almost daily. We shoo him away as much as we can. I even let Bailey out to chase him away. He had eaten fish and frogs out of our pond. Great pictures of the owls.
